During the weekend of 8th and 9th of June, we had a great youth camp. The children played fun games with their team (they were the Spartans, Cretans, Trojans or Argonauts) and made a coat of arms. Because of the theme ‘Heroes of Olympus’ they all came across Greek mythological figures where they had to do related assignments. Or they just had to flee from the three-headed Cerberus in a tag game.
On Sunday they participated in the ‘modern Olympic Games’, with all kinds of sporting games around the camp building. Team against team, like a real competition. Tug of war (until the rope broke!), sumo wrestling, the traditional 4-man ski race and the hoop race.
